Safety Culture
At Swanson Transport we have worked hard on setting up Health and Safety
policies and processes that have shaped our Safety Culture.
We are proud to have achieved Tertiary level in ACC’s Workplace Safety
Management Programme and Gold Status in the Fleet Saver programme.
Tertiary Level ACC WSMP
This is a programme run through ACC, whereby an extenal auditor reviews the
systems and processes in place to monitor, manage and ultimately reduce the
number of accidents or injuries within the work place. We have been constantly
improving our standards and in 2014 we achieved the top recognition of Tertiary
Level.
Gold Fleet Saver
Fleet saver is a programme run by ACC, focusing on the fleet, looking at advance
best practice framework and advance safety management systems with continuous
improvements in on-road and workplace health and safety. ACC audits the
proccesses in place for repairs and maintenance, as well as monitoring driver
performance, through to the selection of new trucks, ensuring they are safe for
both driver and the public.
In early 2016 we achieved the Gold status which is a credit to the whole team, from
the Workshop right through to our drivers.

Lift Assessments
For our Hiab operation we have adopted industry best practice Multi-Level Risk
Assessment procedures, to help our Hiab Operators determine the appropriate
procedures to complete any lift.
This is based on three different Lift types, with increasing levels of risk managment
to be applied. These lift assessments are completed on site prior to commencing
the lift, which are filled out on the Navman units in the trucks. The lift assessment
is uploaded in real time to our dispatchers.
