Waterview Tunnel Connecting West and South

When west meets south, we can do more.

The opening of the Waterview Tunnel has opened up better transport routes for Auckland’s transport network. The long-awaited Waterview tunnel was opened to the public on July 2nd and since then has opened up a whole new travel network for Auckland commuters.

With the new links between West and South Auckland, Swanson Transport has better access to more locations in and around Auckland.

Opening up new freight networks

Costing around $1.4 billion, the Waterview Tunnel has been one of the biggest developments in Auckland’s road network since the Auckland Harbour Bridge opened in 1959. The tunnel was not only planned to ease commuter congestion, but designed to create more transport connections between the main freight hubs of Auckland.

The Waterview Tunnel was a huge undertaking. Well done to all who were involved in making this project such a success!
