Our team puts safety first.

At Swanson Transport we have worked hard on setting up Health and Safety policies and processes that have shaped our Safety Culture.

We were proud to be one of the first Transport Companies in NZ to have achieved Gold Status in the ACC Fleet Saver programme in 2016 and we continue to live up to and strive to improve these standards.

Truck-Mounted Crane Safety

Lift Assessments

For our Truck Mounted Crane Operation, we have adopted industry best practice Multi-Level Risk Assessment procedures, to enable our Hiab Operators to determine the appropriate procedures to complete any lift.  A Lift Assessment is completed on site prior to commencing any lift.

Truck mounted crane Signals

Although operating and directing a Knuckle boom crane is similar to that of a standard crane, there are some distinct differences. To assist we have put together Truck Mounted Crane(Hiab) hand signals.

Tertiary Level ACC WSMP

This is a programme run through ACC, whereby an external auditor reviews the systems and processes in place to monitor, manage and ultimately reduce the number of accidents or injuries within the work place. We have been constantly improving our standards and in 2014 we achieved the top recognition of Tertiary Level. Although this programme no longer provides a discount it is still a prerequisite for ACC Fleet Saver.

Gold: ACC Fleet saver

Fleet saver is a programme run by ACC, focusing on the fleet, looking at best practice framework and advance safety management systems with continuous improvements in on-road and workplace health and safety. ACC audits the processes in place for repairs and maintenance, as well as monitoring driver performance, through to the selection of new trucks, ensuring they are safe for both driver and the public. In early 2016 we achieved the Gold status which is a credit to the whole team, from the Workshop right through to our drivers.
