More Than Just Driving

Operating safely at Swanson Transport means more than just a licence.

Our drivers are thoroughly trained in the safe operation of our fleet of trucks and equipment.

Here at Swanson Transport and Lupton Carriers we set high standards for our staff to maintain. Safety is always at the forefront of our focus, so the team are trained to more than just driving a vehicle.

Our team of drivers are qualified

The safe operation of our vehicles is crucial to our staff, customers and the community alike. In order to gain the experience and knowledge needed to operate our equipment, our drivers and warehouse staff must pass the appropriate qualifications.

License and endorsements

These qualifications permit staff to work in specific areas such as the warehouse, driving forkhoist and reach trucks, or for our drivers in our general freight area delivering dangerous goods. Our senior hiab operators require various qualifications and endorsements on their licences which include:

  • Class 2,4 & 5 Heavy Truck Licences

  • Forkhoist endorsement

  • Dangerous Goods endorsement

  • Unit Standard 16617 Truck Mounted Loader Crane

  • Site Safe Passport

Site inductions and construction passports

Our drivers are all inducted on the sites they deliver to. They also undertake regular Site Safe Courses to obtain a site safe passport that permits them to be on certain sites.

Ensuring our customers are well looked after

Our drivers are the face of our company and take pride in building relationships with our customers. This means ensuring they have the knowledge and skills in the safe practice of not only driving and transporting goods, but also in meeting our customer’s health and safety requirements.

New members of our team receive full training in these areas that are relevant to their duties.
